4G Routers for Office Use
View our selection of 4G routers designed for office use.
We start with the Huawei B315 4G Router - this provides 4 x 10/100 Ethernet ports so you can create a wired network and also includes 802.11n WiFi (300Mbps) so your devices can connect using WiFi (up to 32 devices) Simply insert your 4G Data SIM and configure your settings and enjoy high speed 4G connectivity for you roffice
Next we have the Huawei E5186 4G Router which does everything the B315 router does but has Gigabit Ethernet Ports and the new higher speed 802.11ac WiFi for faster WiFi connectivity (up to 64 wireless clients). The E5186 4G router also has enhanced internal 4G antennas for optimum 4G performance.
Finally, for the more demanding office users we have the Billion 8920NZ M2M Style 4G Router which offers advanced functionality, WAN failover, VPN connectivity and M2M style reliability with dual SIM card failover option. The Billion 8920NZ 4G Router provides Gigabit 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and 802.11n WiFi (up to 64 wireless clients - 16 clients per SSID x 4 SSID's)
All of the routers featured on this page have the capability to connect external 4G antennas. In the case of the Huawei B315 and E5186 there is a removable panel on the rear of the unit which exposes the two SMA connectors whilst the Billion 8920NZ has detachable 4G antennas.
We have inlcuded a selection of compatible 4G antennas on this page and accessories - however we must point out that these are not booster antennas - dont just buy an antenna thinking that it will boost your 4G speed - the reason you would use an external 4G antenna is becuase you might install the router in a location with poor signal (indoors) but have a better signal outdoors where you intend to install the antenna.
We also sell antenna extension cables - but remember a longer cable length will reduce the signal strength so only extend the cable if the antenna is in a location with a far better signal than the router. The recommended antennas are MIMO antennas so are provided with 2 x 5m cables so if you purchase antenna extension cables then please remember to order two extension cables.
How Fast Will My 4G Connection Be?
Many customers that want to use 4G mobile broadband for their office internet ask this question and the simple answer is we dont't know.
4G is a shared service so if more people connected to your local basestation are using the 4G service then your internet speed will be slower and the distance to the 4G base station will also affect the speed.
It is also worth noting that when you install a 4G router in your office your router is performing many different functions which use the router processor power so you might get a slightly slower speed than when you speed test using a mobile phone becuase your mobile phone has a fast processor and only performs a single function at a time . But if you are only getting very slow speeds on your office ADSL service then switching to a 4G service could be the answer if your speed is generally faster than your ADSL.
We also can't advise you how much data you will use or which mobile network or data plan to use - we only provide Fixed IP SIM cards and the majority of business customers that just need a basic 4G service to take advantage of faster Internet speeds available on 4G will not need a Fixed IP SIM Card. You will only need a Fixed IP SIM if you are running services that need to be connected to from the internet eg. web server, VPN server and if this is the case then you can visit our Fixed IP SIM card section which will provide you with information about pricing and available services and yes, these SIM cards are a higher price than you can get for a normal data SIM.
One other final thing to point out is that if you have an UNLIMITED 3G/4G DATA SIM Card then this is probably supplied on a contractual basis for use in a smartphoen only and if you use this type of SIM card in a 3G or 4G router then it is highly likely that the mobile network will suspend your service until you put the SIM back into your smartphone.
